Senior Project Manager
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support our strategic objectives through the delivery of complex projects and programmes. This position is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of initiatives by overseeing scope, budget, timelines, resources, and stakeholder engagement. The role will provide leadership across cross‑functional project teams and ensure adherence to organizational project management standards.
In addition to project delivery responsibilities, the Senior Project Manager will lead a local team of project and business analysis professionals, ensuring capability development, quality assurance, and alignment with PMO methodologies and expectations.
Your Responsibilities
Define project scope and objectives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Coordinate development of business cases, resource planning, and allocation
Lead internal teams and external vendors to ensure high-quality execution
Develop detailed project plans; monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and issues
Oversee change management across scope, budget, and schedule
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting
Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, including sponsors and steering committees
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Facilitate effective handover to BAU operations and ensure formal project closure
Oversee multiple projects, lead multiple project teams, and ensure successful programme outcomes
As a leader: coaching and mentoring co-workers to support career growth and professional development
Provide regular performance feedback and maintain the team skills matrix
Promote knowledge-sharing and ensure consistent application of PMO standards
Contribute to team development plans and continuous improvement initiatives
Our requirements:
University or college degree
Project Management certification would be a plus; PMP preferred
Fluent English knowledge
Strong expertise in scope, budget, resource, stakeholder, risk, and procurement management
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to motivate and develop teams
Deep knowledge of project and programme management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2)
Solid understanding of financial institutions
Minimum 5 years delivering large, complex projects or 2 years delivering programmes
Proven experience operating within matrix-managed environments
