We are seeking an experienced and dynamic
Business Intelligence (BI) Lead
to support the introduction of a Global Data function within the organisation. This key role will drive the introduction, and standardisation, of Power BI as the visualisation tool of choice at International Personal Finance, establish a BI Centre of Excellence, and set best practices for Power BI administration. The successful candidate will act as a Power BI subject matter expert, leading centralised report development, administering Power BI across the organisation, and supporting collaborative working between the Global BI team and our sub-BI teams in our many territories.

About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity to work for us as our Global Business Intelligence (BI) Lead as part of a new Global Data Team. The role can be based in multiple locations across our European Home Credit business.
You will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and standardisation of Power BI across the organisation, establishing a BI Centre of Excellence and ensuring best practices for Power BI administration, to enable data-driven decision-making and foster collaboration between global and local BI teams
Your day-to-day activities are likely to include the following:
- Manage and Maintain the Power BI Platform: Oversee the Power BI Service Platform to ensure it operates securely and efficiently, delivering reliable performance and data availability in line with agreed SLAs to meet the business's reporting needs.
- Lead Reporting and Visualisation Strategy: Develop and implement a centralised BI function aligned with the organisation's Data Strategy and IPF’s strategic goals, ensuring that business intelligence supports decision-making and drives business outcomes.
- Power BI Administration and Best Practices: Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on Power BI, setting and maintaining best practices for platform use, ensuring optimal utilisation of its features to empower users and promote self-service analytics.
- Standardise Dashboards and Reports: Lead efforts to standardise Power BI dashboards and reporting outputs across the organisation, ensuring consistency in data presentation and visualisation, which enhances user understanding and decision-making.
- Lead Data Modelling Efforts: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data models that meet reporting and analytics needs, collaborating with data engineers and BI teams to ensure models align with business requirements and support the Data Strategy.
- Establish and Manage a BI Centre of Excellence: Create and lead a BI Centre of Excellence to foster the adoption of best practices, standardisation, and continuous improvement in business intelligence development, ensuring high-quality data outputs across the organisation.
- Engage Stakeholders and Sub-BI Teams: Build strong relationships with sub-BI teams in various regions, implementing a hub-and-spoke model to ensure collaborative working, information sharing, and alignment on reporting priorities across the organisation.
- Develop Training and Mentorship Programmes: Design and deliver training programmes to upskill BI analysts, empowering teams across the organisation to leverage Power BI effectively, fostering a data-driven culture through enhanced reporting capabilities.
What are we looking for?
- Power BI Expertise: The ideal candidate will possess expert-level knowledge of Power BI, including administration of the platform and setting up best practices that promote its optimal use across the organisation. They should be proficient in configuring and maintaining Power BI environments, ensuring that deployments are aligned with the latest features and industry standards. This expertise should extend to understanding how to scale Power BI usage effectively, balancing performance, security, and user accessibility.
- Reporting and Visualisation Strategy and Implementation: We are seeking a leader with a proven track record in designing, developing, and implementing a centralised BI function. The candidate should be experienced in creating a strategic reporting and visualisation roadmap that aligns with the broader Data Strategy and business objectives. This includes guiding the BI function to deliver actionable insights, foster data-driven decision-making, and support the organisation's strategic goals through intuitive and effective data visualisation.
- Power BI Service Platform Administrator: The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining the Power BI Service Platform, ensuring high availability, data security, and optimal performance that aligns with business service level agreements (SLAs). This includes hands-on expertise in configuring platform settings, monitoring system health, performing capacity planning, and troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and disruptions.
- Dashboards Standardisation: We are looking for someone skilled in leading the standardisation of Power BI dashboards and reports across the organisation. This involves establishing best practices for design and development to promote consistency, reliability, and high-quality outputs. The candidate should have the ability to implement templates, style guides, and a unified approach that enhances user experience and data comprehension, ensuring reports meet both business and technical requirements.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills are essential for this role, with experience in fostering effective collaboration with sub-BI teams and stakeholders across various levels of the organisation. The ideal candidate should be adept at engaging with diverse teams, including IT, data engineers, analysts, and business leaders, to understand their needs, drive alignment, and ensure that BI initiatives are effectively integrated into business operations. The ability to promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing is key to the success of this position.
